The Soma Build- part 5

Making videos has become a bit of a joy for me. One thing I’ve been trying to learn is the art of color. I feel the videos should do justice to the woods and build, and this video, I feel, is a move in that direction. Doesn’t hurt that the woods are simply gorgeous

GGBO 2023 is a GO!

I’ve been waiting a long time to finally build this guitar. It has a name, which I don’t mention in the video- La Paloma. It’s the model that really made me decide to pursue this as more than just a hobby. In many ways this is a prototype, so I am sure that it will take a long time to perfect it, but I think it’s an idea worthy of sustained dedication.

I always struggle with GGBO videos. I always wonder if I should be more “serious” in these videos. I wonder if all the meandering explorations add or hinder peoples perceptions of the guitars themselves. Ultimately I always choose to go with what seems fun to do.
